No Helmets, No Problem: Rugby Team Wraps Up a Winning Season
The rugby team is fairly new, it debuted in 1998, but rugby — a physically demanding team game that originated in England — has become one of the sports at which Furman consistently excels. Furman’s club team competes in Division II of Rugby USA and is nearing the end of a winning season in which the team went 3-1 and had the opportunity to compete in the playoffs.

The University Police have a new office, located in the bottom floor of Hipp Hall, that is spacious, professional, and welcoming, an image that Saccenti said University Police had been trying to achieve but which had been hindered by their old location.

Two Students Assist with Arrest
Last week, two Furman students were able to help the Furman Police Department arrest people responsible for a series of thefts from motor vehicles on campus. Two students were walking back to their apartment and observed suspicious behavior. They called FUPO and helped the police chase down and arrest one of the people involved.

Stand-Up Desks the Newest Office Trend On Campus
It’s not often that the Human Resources Department starts the newest trend on Furman’s campus. Tired of sitting all day behind desks, several members of the department have adopted the stand-up desk, a contraption that attaches to a desk and raises the computer so one can type, answer the phone, take notes, or perform various other tasks, all while standing up.
