Utensils:
- Pot or saucepan
- Tea infuser or cheesecloth
Ingredients:
- 1 quart apple cider
- 2 Tbs. mulling spices*
- optional: cinnamon sticks
Put spices in tea infuser or tie into a small piece of cheesecloth and place both spices and cider into the saucepan. Gently simmer the apple cider and mulling spices for 20 minutes; you want to see small bubbles around the edges of the pan at first, but decrease the heat as necessary to keep it from boiling. Can be served chilled or hot in mugs with cinnamon sticks.
*If you don’t have mulling spices, a mix of cinnamon stick, whole cloves, whole allspice, and orange rind will do nicely.
