Chicken Makhani
My friends and I recently pulled ourselves out of the weekend food rut by making a simple Indian dish called chicken makhani or Indian butter chicken. With lactose intolerant friends in our group, we made a few simple adjustments to the original recipe and ended up with a darn good meal.

It’s been reported that on average, women only make $0.77 for every dollar that a man makes in the workforce. Wait, what? That doesn’t make sense to me. Why, if I’m performing the same tasks, and accomplishing the same goals, should I be paid less for my contribution? The numbers, literally, do not add up.

New Police Chief Promotes Community Relationships
Since becoming the university’s new Chief of Police in June, Tom Saccenti said he’s noticed that most Furman students don’t know any of the names of their campus officers. It’s a problem that Saccenti, who came to Furman from Marietta College in Ohio to replace the retiring Bob Miller, aims to change.

Within an Hour: Jones Gap and Caesar’s Head State Parks
This is a great time of year for outdoor activities as the temperatures cool off and the leaves begin to change. Weekends are ideal for day hikes and camping trips, and even a few hours after class during the week gives a chance to take a study break and enjoy a breathtaking view. Jones Gap and Caesar’s Head State Parks are within 40 minutes of campus and are the perfect settings for a variety of activities.

After a few seasons of falling just short of expectations, Furman’s men’s soccer team is looking to make an impact on the national scale this season. That goal may seem too lofty after the departures of two of their top players, Walker Zimmerman and Coleton Henning, but this year’s team might be even better.

Paladin’s Second Half Surge Not Enough to Top Coastal
Furman (0-2) failed to finish a late rally against Coastal Carolina (2-0), falling to their Southern Conference foe 35-28. A couple of early Paladin turnovers helped Coastal jump to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after scoring on two of their first three possessions. Furman failed to capitalize on early opportunities, missing two field goals, including one to end the first half.
