Prisoners Film Review
One thing I can guarantee you about Denis Villenueve’s Prisoners: it’s not the movie you think it is. If you’ve seen the trailers for this film, you may have already labeled it as a clone of Death Wish and every other violent revenge movie of the last three decades. But Prisoners is a far more thoughtful film than pretty much any other in its genre.

Chinese Moon Festival A Hit At Furman
It is everyone’s sixth week at Furman, and it is also everyone’s sixth week away from home. Whether your family is just a few hours away or happens to be in Xian, China, they are there, you are here, and you probably miss them. Friday, Sept. 20, the Chinese Student Association hosted on a celebration of the Chinese Moon Festival, a traditional holiday about bridging distances to connect with loved ones.

Wisconsin Win Lady Paladin Invitational with Record-Breaking Round
Many of the nation’s top Division I women’s golf teams descended upon Greenville last week for the 42nd annual Lady Paladin Invitational. Furman finished fifth amongst a field that included the likes of Clemson, Florida State, Texas A&M, and twelve other teams from as far away as Wisconsin.

Hummus Takes Root At Furman
If you’ve been to the Dining Hall or the PalaDen lately, you’ll notice a new condiment on display. Whether you slap on a spoonful or buy three tubs like I do, the hummus and salsa from Roots Organic Gourmet is taking Furman by storm. This Asheville-based company has been in business since 2006, making mouths water with local flavors and ingredients. Besides their eight variations of hummus, Roots also offers three flavors of salsa and even Tzatziki sauce.
