Furman administrators deigned to step foot on campus today as they broke ground for the site where they hope that ground will eventually be broken on the new South Housing building. This begins the process of beginning the process of building the new building, whose name has not yet been announced.

Administrators were pleased with the turnout to today’s preliminary groundbreaking. “We had 24 members of the Furman community and no less than a dozen students in attendance,” a representative of the administration told the Horse. “This was well in excess of our predicted numbers!”

The ground-breaking facility is expected to house 75 to 90 attendees of the official groundbreaking and is scheduled to be completed by January of 2023. The official groundbreaking will take place in the facility later in 2023.
