Electronic dubstep group Krewella has released their first full-length album, “Get Wet.” Krewella’s music is similar to artists such as Cazzette, Flux Pavillion, and the newly popular Zedd. Krewella’s album will leave you tired from clubbing all night.

Katy Perry’s new album “Prism” is disappointing. It isn’t bad; it just isn’t catchy like her first two full-length albums. Swedish dance music was an apparently an influence, though I certainly didn’t get this vibe from the album’s preponderance of slow tempo songs.

Pupuseria y Cafeteria is a small restaurant and grocery on the side of Cedar Grove Road in Greenville, about a seven-minute drive from Furman. The place is distinctive in that it’s Salvadorian, so if you are looking for authenticity and some pupusas, it’s the place to go.

The 1975, an indie/alternative band from Manchester, England, has released their first full-length album, and it doesn’t fail to satisfy. Their self-titled debut displays a wide range of styles across its tracks and has sounds reminiscent of Vampire Weekend, The Neighborhood, Cobra Starship, and San Cisco.

If you are looking to enjoy a few drinks and a different musical experience, consider Jack n’ Diane’s, a new piano bar downtown on North Brown Street that is well-worth a visit.

John Mayer’s new album “Paradise Valley” pleases the ear with a variety of instruments and an updated jazz and southern rock sound, reminiscent of early rock bands such as the Eagles, the Allman Brothers, and John Mellencamp.

It doesn’t look like much from the street front, but Jamaica Mi Irie has huge personality. The restaurant is downtown on South Main Street, right beside Takosushi. The small restaurant, which opened last October, radiates a Caribbean vibe.

Furman Opera theater put on Gianni Schicchi, an opera by Giacomo Puccini, on Nov. 1 and Nov. 3.
