In March of 2018, Neo Burrito, joined the quickly growing West Greenville food scene. Neo Burrito is a locally-run Cali-Mex style restaurant specializing in burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads with a focus on sustainability.
Greenville’s Neo Burrito is one four Neo Burrito locations, with its other locations in Asheville in the River Arts District, Biltmore Park and East Asheville.
Neo Burrito’s menu features an array of fixed burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and appetizers with Neo Burrito-specific staples like the Chupacabra – a burrito stuffed with rice, chili beans, jerk chicken, bacon, chorizo or ground beef, pineapple salsa, ninja sauce, beets and chipotle aioli.
The menu also offers the option for customers to create a meal of their own with build your own burritos and salads. In addition to lunch and dinner favorites, the restaurant offers a breakfast menu with favorites such as the Quesadomelette which blends the beloved omelette and quesadilla into one breakfast dish.
Neo Burrito’s menu also accommodates dietary preferences, offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.
One of Neo Burrito’s trademarks is its commitment to sourcing its ingredients locally. All of the Asheville locations supply their produce and eggs from Neo Farm while the Greenville location uses Neo Farm as a supplier but also sources from local farms. This results in fresh, flavorful ingredients that bring each dish to life.
What truly sets Neo Burrito apart is its mission of worldwide sustainability. The company dedicates itself to reducing electrical, water and food waste. For example, the Biltmore Park location uses solar panels to decrease electricity usage as well as a rain harvester which collects water used for the restaurant’s toilets. Each Neo Burrito location composts all extra food scraps and uses them as soil and feed at Neo Farm. All of Neo’s to-go boxes and salsa cups are sustainable and, all to-go cutlery and plates are compostable or recyclable.
For customers on the go, Neo Burrito offers items to-go which can be ordered in store or through the convenience of online or on the Neo Burrito app. For those in pursuit of a sit-down meal, the restaurant offers extensive seating at its bar or mezzanine-level seating area.
When customers enter the restaurant, they are greeted by the chalkboard menu and open-kitchen area where plates are crafted before customers’ eyes. Alongside the open-kitchen counter is a bar that contains daily made salsas and pico de gallo. The restaurant’s décor echoes the earthy and artsy vibes of Asheville’s River Arts District with its exposed brick, wall murals and its concrete bar with seating.
Neo Burrito is located on West Greenville’s Pendelton Street, across from Golden Brown & Delicious and a few stores down from the new Village Grind location. Neo Burrito is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information and to check out weekly specials, visit https://www.neoburrito.com or find Neo Burrito on Instagram at neoburritoavl.
