You may think that being stuck on campus during May or for the summer is going to be a drag. Without many of your friends on campus, you sigh, there won’t be anything to do.

Less than one month away from the draft, it seems certain that former Furman offensive lineman Dakota Dozier will be taken on the second day of this year’s NFL draft.

Six faculty members will also conclude their professorships and begin the retired life this May. The professors are retiring for diverse reasons, but the main consensus is that they are ready to see what lies beyond the Furman gates.

This past Friday, April 11, members of The Paladin staff attended the South Carolina Press Association’s annual collegiate conference at Clemson University.

With summer movie season rapidly approaching, it’s time to take a look at some of the big attractions that will hit the cinemas from May-July.

The number of Cultural Life Program events a student attends in any given semester affects their priority for choosing classes for the following term and more importantly is a requirement for graduation. While many students find it easy to meet the 32 CLP event attendance requirement, there are many others who struggle to get every single credit before walking out of Furman’s gates for the last time.

Dr. Carl Kohrt had already retired twice when he agreed to become Furman’s interim president last spring, and with Dr. Elizabeth Davis set to assume the presidency this summer, the former businessman from the class of 1965 is preparing to hang up his hat once more.

The Furman Lake, as if it were not already lethal enough, is now currently being occupied by an unidentified menace that resembles something between a shark and the Loch Ness monster.

With the year winding down for spring sports, the collegiate careers of Furman’s seniors are also coming to an end. The Paladin decided to ask a few seniors about their time at Furman and their expectations for the last weeks of the season.
